Fairfield, while growing as an information-age community, remains in the heart of the Iowa agriculture region.

Growing of crops and livestock, conservation of farmland, concern over soil erosion, and the growth of genetically engineered foods have been a major focus of Fairfielders.

Many agriculturally savvy Fairfield residents participate in organizations and political entities to voice their concerns to protect Iowa's farmland.

These pictures, taken by air, demonstrate the agricultural heritage that is important to Fairfield residents and Jefferson County.
